Annotation

a German television adaptation of the opera was filmed later the same year, starring virtually the exact same cast:
Mirella Freni, Plácido Domingo (in place of Pavarotti in this 1974 studio cast), Christa Ludwig, Robert Kerns, Wiener Philharmoniker, Herbert von Karajan, and directed by Jean-Pierre Ponnelle. it was said in a review that "the (studio recording) was recorded in early 1974, with Luciano Pavarotti for audio only, replaced by Plácido Domingo for the film made towards the end of that same year" and that "… the film was lip-synched to the sound track."
