Following two great albums, this good but slightly uneven album again showcases the band's strengths and their music. It opens with Hello, I Love You , which might not be my favorite Doors' track opener but it does the job. Following it are two excellent songs, including the evergreen Love Street. After the cacophonious highs of first three songs, the next two sound almost like cocktail music to me ( a term their producer will use later for some of their music ). However, the band regains the peak again on one of their finest songs of their career, in my opinion, in the form of Unknown Soldier.

The next track finds the guitarist Robbie Kriegar at the helm, which was rare in a song for this band and is a welcome departure. The successive two songs are competent enough but never rise above mediocrity. It's the album's closer Five to One that ends it off on a grand scale. It's not as free form as the endings on their previous two albums and many might find it to be a letdown but it does the job for this album.

In my opinion, this album definitely has more weaker points than their debut (which almost had none) and their sophomore effort ( which had one filler ), which brings the difference between being a good album and a great one.
