Fantasies, Ayres and Dances: Elizabethan and Jacobean Consort Music
~ Release by Julian Bream Consort (see all versions of this release, 3 available)
Annotation
This has also been released in 1993 as disc 7 of the Julian bream Edition.
Once proper pseudo-releases / release aliases are in place, it would be: Julian Bream Edition (disc 7: Fantasies, Ayres & Dances)
Produced by James Burnett; Recording engineer: John W. Bower; Recorded: September 1987, Wigmore Hall, London
Some issues with the performer ARs:
- First of all, these are "fuzzy" relationships. The 1993's release booklet doesn't make it clear who performd what on which tracks. Maybe the '87 release does better at this, so somebody who owns it, please step in and fix things..
- There's only a viola da gamba instrument now. They performed different instruments:
- Catherine Mackintosh - treble viol
- Jane Ryan - bass viol
- James Tyler - tenor viol
- Nancy Hadden performed a renaissance flute
- Robert Spencer performed a pandora, not a regular cittern
