Annotation

Motet-cycle “Vultum tuum deprecabuntur”: This release has the motet-cycle Vultum tuum deprecabuntur recast for stylistic-aestethic reasons (booklet page 4—5). The whole cycle is recorded, but its last motet (Christe fili Dei) is lifted “out of cycle” as headed in tracklist (tracks 6—12), to track 4; and another motet Ave Maria, gratia plena is (not substituted where Christe fili was lifted out, but) inserted between parts 1 & 2, offsetting following numbers. (This is to get the ‘Amen’ conclusion from original part 6 while retaining number of parts to the symbolic 7 (as in 7 sorrows of the virgin).)
