Postman Pat and his Black and White Cat (Postman Pat theme)
~ Song
Annotation
For themes for the original 1981 series run (1981-2003) with lyrics, are most likely to be performed by Ken Barrie.
There are multiple different recordings, ofen hopelessly credited to a "Postman Pat", from different eras of the show.
Here are some that I have identified:
* original recording, the theme is mostly just an acoustic guitar and Ken Barrie singing.
* circa 1997 this theme used for Series 2, features sound effects and some background female harmony vocals
* circa 2000, this theme was used on DVD releases and sounds very similar to the original but could be argued there is some reverb added
* circa 2003, this theme was used on some DVD releases (such as Magic Christmas) and features a steam train noise at the beginning
* circa 2004 this theme again is conceptually the same as the original but the vocals have been re-recorded and there are various sound-effects littered through-out (van noise, birds, cat meow) and additional strings layered into the mix
* unknown era, but there's a version with a vibraphone included in the mix
*
Special Delivery Service theme's should be linked to it's own work entity.
