The Fat Man (ARC)

~ Release by Fats Domino (see all versions of this release, 16 available)

Annotation

This compact disc was obviously intended as a simple CD reissue of vinyl album of the same name and even with the same catalog number issued by Topline Records in 1984, but a serious mistake was made in mastering it.
The boundaries between the recordings of this concert were shifted by 35 seconds, with the first 35 seconds of the first recording simply dropped. As a result, no track lives up to its name. So:
- track 1 called I'm Gonna Be a Wheel Someday contains this recording (without the first 35 seconds) and 35 seconds of next recording in tracklist I Want to Walk You Home;
- track 2 called I Want to Walk You Home contains the remainder of this recording and the first 35 seconds of next recording Whole Lotta Loving;
- ... and so on;
- the last track Goin' Home contains this recording (without the first 35 seconds) and then 35 seconds of silence.
As a result, the tracks on this CD have the same lengths as on vinyl record, but each track is not a separate recording with this title, but a compilation of two parts of adjacent recordings.
