Jack o’ Diamonds (Bob Dylan version)
~ Song
Annotation
This song was written for a BBC drama titled "The Man Without Papers". The BBC's "Radio Times" originally claimed, in 1965, that this song had been written by Bob Dylan especially for Ben Carruthers. In reality, this song used 2 poems from the liner notes of "Another Side Of Bob Dylan" (Poem #4 by Dylan and Poem #5: "Go Joshua Go" by Ben Carruthers) as the lyrics for the song. Both poems were used by Troy Kennedy Martin without authorization.
There has also been a fake Dylan song distributed using this title, on the faked "Pittsburgh Radio Tape".
